Philippine Lutheran Youth League

Greetings of love, joy, and peace!

We would like to give our warmest welcome in behalf of the PLYL Office to every youth here in the Philippines and abroad in celebration of the love of our savior Jesus Christ. Thank you for visiting our page to be informed regarding the organization and its programs.

It says in 1 Timothy 4:12, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

The above verse in the bible is a reminder to every youth. I understand that there are a lot of struggles as we live everyday that could bring disappointment in our lives. This could be in the school, within the family, in the church, with friends, and in the community as a whole. But as a follower of Christ Jesus, we should stay faithful and strong so that one could be an inspiration to others. It is a challenge then among the youth to stay true to their faith as it manifests in their ways.

It is with hope that in behalf of the organization, we will be able to work with you in harmony towards the vision and mission of our church.

God bless everyone. God bless the Philippine Lutheran Youth League.

PLYL Participates in the Worldwide Climate Change Awareness Program

The Philippine Lutheran Youth League (PLYL) launches the Climate Change Awareness Program last April 2, 2016 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Tondo, Manila. This is a continuing program that is supported by the Lutheran World Federation Youth Global Young Reformers Network. The Officers of the PLYL in attendance were Mr. Edgar Toclo, Mr. Johanan Celine Valeriano, Mr. Reynold Bermuel, Jr., Ms. Jellenny Punzalan, Mr. Jeremias Dicawan, Mr. James Tabios, Ms. Jaaziah Huevos and Mr. Paul Symon Santos.

It is the intention of this project to empower the youth leaders of Lutheran Church in the Philippines as good stewards of the environment and to influence their members to act the same on the issue. Dr. Samuel Martin, an Indian Professor and environment advocate from University of the Philippines, served as one of the speakers talking about the basics of climate change. Another speaker is Rev. Antonio Reyes, LCP the President; he focused on the biblical interpretation of being a good steward of the environment. Rev. Ibarra Valeriano led the morning devotion before the lecture series.

The PLYL officers are expected to echo their learnings in their own districts during their respective summer camps. (Edgar Toclo& JC Valeriano).
