Greetings from the President

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Risen Savior Jesus Christ!

First I would like to welcome you to our new website. Thank you for your visit and I am greatly honored by you spending your precious time with us. This website is the product of all our prayers and hard work in our earnest desire to bring our church to the world wide web. We thank God for His faithfulness.

Our team has agreed to bring to you a credible and trustworthy site. As you are aware of, with so many websites coming out of the internet, we face the risk of relying on written articles that are not credible and trustworthy. Consequently, we are confused and we are misled.

We Lutherans, however, believe in the Bible as THE Word of God. His Word is complete and infallible. We see to it that what we teach and what we advocate are based on His Word. We also believe that the Bible’s central message is the message of salvation through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. From the Old Testament to the last book of the New Testament the message of salvation through Christ is consistently written with sense of urgency.

We, Lutherans believe that our salvation is by faith alone, by grace alone and by Scriptures alone. In Latin it is translated as “Sola Fide, Sola Gracia, Sola Scriptura”. We are saved from the power of Satan, sin and death through faith in Jesus, by God’s grace as revealed in God’s Word, the Holy Bible. Martin Luther, the great reformer, has explained this truth to us in a most simple manner. As human beings we have no contribution whatsoever in gaining our salvation. Not by our works but by His grace alone. Its God and God alone.

What makes us credible and trustworthy is that we completely rely on God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His Word. None other.

So I hope that you continue to visit us and learn from us. We also want to learn from you, and the others too. So we welcome the news that you are going to share – in your mission and Christian education activities, whether it concerns children, the young people and the older men and women in the Philippines and even abroad. Everyone is welcome. Let us make this website our meeting place.

May the Lord bless us and keep us always in His fold.

In Christ,

Rev. Antonio del Rio Reyes
President, Lutheran Church in the Philippines
