LCP 25th General Convention – Postponed

Greetings of joy and peace from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with you.

Last June 11, 2020, the LCP Board of Directors held a special meeting via online using Zoom application which was attended by 8 of the 9 members. One of the agenda discussed was the upcoming LCP General Convention which is scheduled on October 26-30, 2020. Initial preparations were all in place, but due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, together with government regulations and restrictions that need to be followed, the postponement of the said convention was considered. The LCP-BD thoroughly discussed on whether to postpone it or not and questions regarding health and safety of the delegates were considered with utmost concern.

After such deliberations and discussions, and also in consultation with the guidelines of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the LCP-BD unanimously decided to postpone the LCP 25th General Convention from October 26-30, 2020 to October 25-29, 2021. With this decision, it is understood that the incumbent LCP President will extend his term in a hold-over capacity until the next convention.

The above decision is reflected on the resolution: LCP-BD-14-20, POSTPONEMENT OF THE 25TH LCP GENERAL CONVENTION to October 25-29, 2021.

With this development, we encourage all our pastors and congregations to study the proposed amendments to the LCP Constitution and By-Laws; prepare and submit proposals; and other matters that pertain to the convention. Deadline for submission of amendments to the LCP Constitution and By-Laws should be 6 months before the scheduled date of the convention and all other proposals should be submitted at least 3 months before the convention.

We hope and pray for your kind understanding. And let us continue to pray that God will give us the cure for this pandemic. God bless us always.

In Christ,

Rev. Henry Paul D. Roa (Sgd.)

LCP Secretary

Rev. Antonio R. Reyes (Sgd.)

LCP President

LCP-BD-14-20: POSTPONEMENT OF THE 25TH LCP GENERAL CONVENTION

Whereas,         last June 11, 2020, the LCP-BD held an online special meeting which was attended by 8 of the 9 members, the Lay Representative from the North Luzon Highland District, Mr. Romulo Sacla was unable to attend due to signal problem, and

Whereas,         preparations were already made but, the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, together with the government quarantine regulations and restrictions compelled the LCP-BD to reconsider whether to push through or postpone the planned convention, and

Whereas,         the LCP-BD has also considered the S.E.C. Circular No. 6, Series 2020 that allows corporations to hold conventions/conferences provided that it will be held via live stream application, such as Zoom, which could not accommodate the number of delegates attending, and

Whereas,         the LCP-BD seriously considered the health situation, the safety of all the delegates, the difficulty to travel and the government’s restrictions on mass gatherings, be it therefore,

Resolved,         that the October 26-30, 2020 General Convention be postponed and be moved to October 25-29, 2021, and finally;

Resolved,         that the incumbent President will remain on a hold over capacity until the next general convention on October 25-29, 2021.
